Aleta Ogord's life could be considered disturbing to most people. She grew up on Arcturus. her people have a vastly longer lifespan than normal humans with the average being roughly 1800 years. Her people are also stronger, faster, and ovreall more physically capable than humans. She was born in what would be considered the early 21st century. When she was in her teens, she and her adopted brother explored the ruins of an ancient temple. Not only did they learn that the temple was dedicated to the 'Hawk God' but it housed a dormant 'Hawk God' as well.
They woke the god and were both transformed so that they shared one body that would turn into one or the other of them complete with their own powers and personalities. Only one could be dominant at a time. During this time, the adopted siblings developed romantic feelings for one another, and having petitioned the 'Hawk God', they were allowed to temporarily separate into two bodies so that they could bear children. During this time, they had 3 children. Sita, John, and Tara.
Many years passed for the couple that shared a body. Over time, they loved one another less and less. But when they joined the Guardians of the Galaxy to help defend the universe, and honestly, to alleviate boredom and provide adventure, things changed.
Not only did they join the team, but Starhawk (Stakar), the male side of them, managed to arrange events so that the team would be formed in the first place. But they adventured with the Guardians for some time before Aleta's father transformed their three children into energy vampires and sent them to attack Stakar. They were to kill him, and they failed. All three of them died due to accelerated aging, and due to the visible nature of the events, Aleta blamed Stakar for their deaths, and their love was over.
During this time, Aleta began feeling drawn to Vance Astro, who later became known as Major Victory when the Guardians discovered Captain America's shield, and freed Vance from his Adamantium life support containment suit that was keeping his ancient body alive. He no longer needed the suit, and he and Aleta grew close.
Due to an accident when fighting the Starks (A planet that worshipped the tech of Tony Stark 1000 years from the days of Iron Man), Stakar and Aleta were separated into two bodies and Vance and Aleta moved forward with their relationship. However, Stakar forcibly absorbed Aleta so that her energy could sustain his life and powers. When he did this to a teammate, the Guardians of the Galaxy expelled him from the team. Eventually, Aleta grew dominant and took over the body. When she did this, she transformed Stakar back into an infant state and was seperated from him for good. She learned a method of sending his body back through time so that his cycle would begin anew. But something went wrong and she was drawn through the temporal vortex as well, ending up not only back in time, but in an altogether different universe.
Aleta is from a proud warrior culture. She is not the sort to give in if things get difficult. This can lead her to pushing too hard when it's not really all that important, but gives her a leg up in the willpower department.
Aleta has maternal instincts, and regrets from losing her children. She tends to think of younger people as needing of her protection and looking after.
Aleta's past (or future?) is dark and tragic. She would rather start anew in this time and world, and she is determined to make this work and to be a hero in this day and age. She will try to protect not only herself, but everyone else she can.
Aleta is not a loner. She needs other people around to feel like she is a part of something. She has a need to belong rather than merely to exist.
An Arcturan mutant, Aleta was born with the ability to manipulate light and her body has become sentient energy made of light. As such, she does not age and is virtually impervious to physical harm, poisons, diseases, and radiation. She can also survive indefinitely in a vacuum. She could be contained or absorbed but that would be a short term solution. Her power is based on her ability to psionically control light. As another side effect, when she is solidified rather than intangible, she is as durable as Osmium steel, the durability of her Light Constructs.
Ironically, Aleta cannot simply make her body of light move. She can however make disks of light under her feet or back or anywhere necessary and make those disks move, carrying her along with them. In atmosphere she can move at a top speed of somewhere around 450mph. In space, she is capable of moving far faster. Upwards of hundreds of thousands of miles per hour. She cannot move at interstellar speeds, but at very fast interplanetary speeds. While flying, the faster she moves, the greater her agility. As if her brain and body are catching up to her speed.
She can shift her 'body of light' to an intangible state, passing through physical materials without disrupting electronics with her passage. She can use this ability to let other objects pass through her harmlessly as well should the need arise.
With her ability to control light, Aleta can project beams of light energy that can inflict heat damage like a laser or by making them solid she can have them strike with physical impacts. As a laser, it could be used to burn through Solid Stone with little effort, Osmium Steel with more time and exposure, or even damage super-heavy allows if pushed. As a projection of force, it can strike with 50 tons of impacting force.
Aleta can shape light into solid constructs. These constructs can be used to exert 50 tons of force as strength as if telekinetically. They also are as durable as Osmium Steel.
When she had a physical body, Aleta was… like other Arcturans, superhumanly strong. She had the strength to lift up to 50 tons. In her current light body, she possess the same level of strength, but in a different manner. Her psionic control of light enables her body to exert the force equal to that of her energy constructs, 50 tons.
Arcturans naturally are more agile, and have greater reflexes than normal humans. As such, she can react with better speed than the norm.
Aleta's self image affects her outward appearance. She feels attractive, and therefor her Body of Light appears attractive. At least in so much as what she considers attractive. As such, she appears as a lovely young woman in the prime of her life.
Aleta has experience working as a part of a team. She was a Guardian of the Galaxy for years, and instinctively works as a part of a team rather than as someone merely concerned with what is best for herself.
Aleta has no need of air, food, or water. She is a body made entirely of light.
Aleta's father trained her to be a warrior. She learned to fight armed and unarmed. She is well trained in close combat techniques from a number of worlds, and has added to those skills with her time as a Guardian of the Galaxy. She is a formidably trained warrior.
Aleta has lived for centuries, and has used the most high tech gear from all of those times. She is capable of operating a starship, controlling tech systems and even making basic repairs on such systems.
Aleta controls her body of light with her mind. What she envisions, she does. She acts with blinding reaction speed and appears to have superhuman agility and acrobatic training. This helps her in close combat, but also when flying or operating machinery.
While she was not the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Aleta has learned many techniques for getting the most out of teammates in combat and noncombat situations. She is capable of being a leader, even if she does not seem aware of that fact.
Aleta is from a wholly different universe, not to mention a different time. She has gotten used to having super high technology around and for that matter, she is now in the past of a timeline that is similar but not the same to her own. She has no citizenship in any country in the modern world. She has her own memories as well as some of Stakar's from when they were merged. But she doesn't know everything that is to come as this timeline is moving in a different direction as her own did.
She knows that she is somewhere else, and when she figures out where and when she is, she will do her best to survive and prosper. Either way, she's not in Kansas anymore Toto.
Aleta is a warrior, sure. But she tends to assume everyone is an honorable warrior as well, and thus her nature is to trust others until they prove themselves untrustworthy. This could cause her to trust the wrong people for the wrong reasons and entirely the wrong time.
Since she has no flesh and blood body anymore, she is lacking in certain physical attributes. Her body doesn't feel like flesh, and it tends to be room temperature. Should she receive a medical examination, it will be obvious that she is -not- a living organic being.
Newly arrived from an alternate universe.
