Origin

+ Part 1: Young Betsy

When Betsy and Brian were born, James had already been driven mad by his Gene X-driven madness. With Brian being born normal, and Betsy displaying her mutation in the form of violet eyes, she was soon sheltered out of fear she would go by the way of Jamie. Ironically, being alone for the most part of her childhood made Elizabeth develop a powerful knack for illusions, giving form to her imaginary friends.

+ Part 2: Heroic Betsy

Growing with distant parents made Betsy an indepedent woman with a rebellious streak that led her to being far away adventuring through Europe when her folks passed away. To deal with loss she threw herself into increasingly more dangerous endeavours, from piloting to learning how to fight and meeting other mutants and fighting for their cause. It was during this time she met the X-Men, and it was as Psylocke that she met her end in the hands of a assassin of the the Hand known as Kwannon. Dreading death, Betsy panicked and her mutation 'leaped forward'. When she woke up, Betsy was looking at her own dead body, now having taken over Kwannon's to herself, the other woman's mind snuffed with only lingering feelings and abilities remaining within.

+ Part 3: Nowdays

Elizabeth lives at the Xavier Institute, where she attends classes even if she is more than able to teach some of those on her own. The other X-Men might have trouble trusting the woman in this new body, but this is what life ha given Betsy, and she plans to make the most of this second chance, even if killing another person left a scar inside of her one could call remorse.

Elizabeth has a very low sense of self she hides with a mask of confidence, and she has died once. She will live her life and only be sorry for the things she hasn't done.

+ CHEEKY

Life is short, people are fun, and nobody is RIGHT, so why not have fun? Betsy is sarcastic, funny and quippy. She is not for super cereal people.

+ INTROSPECTIVE

Elizabeth doesn't take anything at face value. She thinks about things, wonders what Kamus or Freud would say about it, compares to a sage she visited in India once. She is not a blind trooper, and she asks questions. Lots of them.

+ CONFLICTED

When she wonders if killing Magneto wouldn't make things easier, are those her thoughts, or the lingering echoes of the psychopath whose mind she snuffed? Elizabeth has impulses she isn't entirely sure are hers, so when she is alone, Psylocke does a lot of soul searching.

+ Moivation

Elizabeth is driven by the urge to live a life worth living. Saving other mutants, helping people when she can, making mom and dad proud, wherever they are.

+ Goals

Elizabeth wants to discover what exactly happened between her and Kwannon, and to help Charles Xavier to see his dream through. That would be just fab!

Abilities

+ Telekinesis

Elizabeth can affect material things with her mind. When she does so a huge butterfly glows around her eyes, making it obvious she is the source of it. She can stop a bus with her power dead on it's tracks and create weapons of energy that can cut through steel. With it she can augument her own physical attributes enough she can lift a car or jump two stories high but, unfortunately, cannot make her fly.

+ Telepathy

Elizabeth can affect people's thoughts with her own. When she does so a huge butterfly glows around her eyes, making it obvious she is the source of it. Although crude in comparison to other telepaths, Psylocke is capable of reading thoughts and healing superficial trauma. She can command the weak willed and go into the Astral Plane, even if she is raw there as well. Her only enviable skill as a telepath is the illusion crafting, which she employs all the time, everywhere, to have fun and to misdirect enemies during fights.

Betsy inherited some money from her parents, and if needed she could go to the Braddock Estate for some neat vacations.

Skills

+ Combat

Although not a fighter before, Elizabeth inherited a lot of Kwannon's skills when she took over the woman's bodies. Despite not having the discipline to reach even half of what the woman was, Psylocke is one of the world's deadliest fighters, as it would be expected from one of the Hand's top notch assassins. She knows how to use all the weapons of ninjutsu, how to use water and the battlefield to her advantage, how to incapacitate with one strike and how to kill if she wants to.

+ Covert

Another set of skills picked from Kwannon, Psylocke can move without making a sound, disguise herself and infiltrate almost anywhere with flaws in its infrastructure. Although not very savvy with computers and modern technology, Betsy is in her element whenever away from passwords and high-tech facilities.

Disadvantages

+ Flashbacks

Psylocke can sometimes have flashes and memories of Kwannon that do not belong to her. This can happen in combat whenever her mind gets invaded or stress is too much to bear.

+ Obvious Mutant

Elizabeth's eyes tell the story of her genome, and people don't like that at all. She has to handle with racism and violence on a daily basis.

+ Untrustworthy

She never takes anything seriously, and uses the body of another person to roll around. Betsy just screams 'caution', and yet… most people like her. Still, she does not inspire trust.
