Indrajith Mukherjee was born in 1986. He was the son of a Bollywood set designer and a stand-in actress in India. Little Indrajith loved the movies so much he spend all of his free time with his mom and dad on the various movie sets they were working on throughout his childhood. He was especially interested in the stuntmen. When he turned 11 he was apprenticed to a group of Bollywood stuntmen and got his first acting credit as "Little boy thrown violently off a three story building."
Weee!
Inflatable Crash Pad
He spent the vast majority of his adolescence and early adulthood working in Bollywood as a free agent stuntman under the working name "Stan". In 2014 he thought he had finally made it big! He signed an exclusive work contract to be a supporting actor for a film titled: "Evil Henchmen Take Over the WORLD!!!"
This, of course, was a very bad thing.
"Evil Henchmen Take Over The World!!!" Was a nightmare of a film from the start. Just getting to the filming location, "A small remote volcanic isle somewhere in the south pacific" took two weeks by dirty steam boat! The Writer/Director/Producer/Cameraman "Doctor Director" set a pre-production schedule of harsh physical conditioning, grueling method acting classes, as well as strange physical exams for all of the actors involved. After six months of pre-production people started getting worried. They had not filmed a single scene! But at least the pay was half-decent.
In reality, Doctor Director was perfecting his evil plans to create the ultimate in re-usable, multi-purpose, somewhat competent henchmen. In addition to all the training and fun-fun physical exams, he was working on perfecting a fool proof way to unnaturally modify his cast into the "almost perfect" army.
He ordered and administered "Not-Quite-Super Soldier Formula II" from e-bay. Downloaded and implemented parts of the the "Do it Yourself Genetics Reconstruction Guide" from the Un-Official Mr. Sinister Fan Site. He bombarded them with Ions! Gama Rays! Snuck blended Heart Shaped Herbs into their coleslaw. Ordered insects from Chernobyl and released them on the island. He even scheduled known incompetent mages and spell users to come by and put on magic shows to boost moral (all in the hopes of a mis-hap or two).
Day in and day out, test, test test. All of it as cost effective as possible. But mad scientist testing none the less.
To make a long story a little shorter, Indrajith was the only one who survived the whole ordeal with powers. (Some survived without powers, but were sent home). Doctor Director was severely disappointed on his return on investments and wasn't quite sure which of his methods managed to give Indrajith his powers. What could one villain do with only a one henchman army? He decided to temporarily release Indrajith from his contract, though subject to immediate reinstatement to the film project "At any time - for any reason."
Doctor Director then disguised himself and began working (unbeknownst to Indrajith) as his agent, finding him work and collecting a 70% Agent fee. Only the work Indrajith's agent started finding him was not for Bollywood. It was in the Super Hero - Supervillain Circuit! Big governments and Villian Organizations! That's where the money was!
Indrajith was now working full time. He was a one man studio set with real time live-action and post-production special effects. As a result 2015 was a complete and total blur! One day he was a Shield Field Agent, standing in for some guy who called in sick while Ultron Blasted a hole in his chest. Then not but two weeks later he would be hired to "add filler" to the Hydra roster (which was shorthanded) and had his head knocked in by Captain America. He also got to meet death a few times, who (In his opinion) was really cute but really bad at checkers. She would send him back home in an angry fury.
There were even a few "Special Assignments" where he got to dress up as (CENSORED) just to get shot. Or even as someone as important as (CENSORED) to be buried under a building so the news would think that they were dead. Those assignments were pretty simple. Show up well dressed, say a few lines, fling some Bollywood Magic around to add to the atmosphere. Eventually he would get blown to smithereens, play a game of checkers, then wait for the next job to come in. There was this whole Secrete War thing that went on, but honestly Indrajith was so busy those days he doesn't really remember what roles he played or which side won. It's all a really big blur.
Things have started to slow down since then. He wasn't quite sure when he moved to New York in all the chaos. But here he is, complete with an apartment and a few bucks in his back pocket for him to make it to his next gig. Now if he can just finally figure out how to make it BIG on his own!
Stuntman Stan is a professional! Stan understands and separates his work life and his personal opinions. He can fight the Avengers as an agent of HYDRA one day, and cheerfully stand in as Shield Agent #47 to be shot to death by Bullseye the next. Bad guys are bad guys, and good guys are good guys. It all depends on the uniform he is wearing that day. He lives by the letter of his contracts, which include a pretty explicit non-disclosure clauses. He has NEVER divulged a secret or acted as a spy - unless it was a specifically worded part of the gig.
Stuntman Stan is a good guy! In his personal life he will take out the garbage for the old lady next door and feed stray kittens that show up on his back patio from time to time. After a big battle he will help clean up and get people to their respective sides with a glad heart. This of course is if his contract has expired.
If he is still under contract: DEATH TO THE HYDRA / SHIELD SCUM! (As appropriate)
Stuntman Stan is motivated! Stan wants to be famous. He loves it when someone actually recognizes him for his professional aptitude and work. Though, that doesn't happen very often.
Stuntman Stan has a goal! Stan wants to make it into the big leagues one day! Be it a particularly cunning villain, a plucky second rate side kick, or the fifth member of the Fantastic 4 (TM). One day he will get the recognition, fame, and paycheck he deserves. He just has to keep paying his dues and eventually he won't be a no name -whatever- anymore.
(Cosmic Power)
Indrajith's greatest power bestowed upon him by the mad Doctor Director was the ability to play checkers. Seriously, he is absolutely 100% completely unbeatable at checkers. The rules of reality will temporarily rewrite themselves if necessary so he wins every game. So yeah, he can't lose.
Now Death is really irritated at this power. Every time Indrajith is "Killed" he challenges Death to checkers. And he wins. And death brings him back to life and she casts him back down onto the mortal world. Indrajith usually wakes up in his apartment because most fatal accidents occur in the home and she wants a re-match.
(Magical Power)
Indrajith's exposure to magical accidents and mishaps has resulted in his ability to manifest the "True Magic of Bollywood!" (Trademark pending). He is able to manifest temporary props, cool lighting effects and other general special effects appropriate to whatever role he is playing. A light gun with stun bullets, superficial Japanese armor plates, non damaging explosions and smoke effects? All easily manifested! Effects can push things around and do non-life threatening structural damage to buildings.
It is important to note that all of these effects are non-lethal. Effects can cause temporary pain, light bruises, and barely singed clothing. At best these effects could disorient someone but can be combined with his "Stunning Strike!" psychic ability.
The use of Bollywood Magic! Must accompany Indrajith's method acting. The special effects and props must be appropriate to the role or character being portrayed. No method acting - No Magic.
(Psychic Power)
Indrajith can use his psychic powers to create phantom injuries or even knock someone unconscious. The use of this ability must correspond with a non-lethal special effect or physical attack that, normally, would not harm the intended victim. In order to knock someone unconscious he must must scream the name of some "Special Ultimate Attack!" one turn prior to the action. The knockout attack can be stopped if it is approprately dealth with. The phantom injury or unconsciousness only persists for as long as Indrajith is in the nearby vicinity.
For example, if Indrajith was to shoot a gun loaded with blanks at a person, he could cause that person to believe they were shot in the leg if it appeared that he aimed appropriately. If he missed with a punch, the other person would act like they had been hit pretty hard. After leaving the area the pain and altered behavior will cease. The victim is otherwise unharmed
The strength of the stun or pain is increased if it is combined with his "True Magic of Bollywood!" ability. The more flashy or gaudy it is, the stronger the effect.
(Supernatural)
Indrajith can zip and flit around the battlefield as if he were constantly being supported by a stuntman wire rig. This comes into effect with tiny purple lines that flit in and out of existence. He can be zipped 20-30 feet horizontally, spring board blasted 15 feet into the air, or emulate the same flying movement an actor on a live action set of Peter Pan could accomplish, up to 150 feet in the air. This mode of transportation is not very efficient at sustained overland movement (as he has to constantly switch wire crews).
The use of "Wireman Movement" requires Indrajith to be method acting.
Indrajith is extremely well trained in method acting. When he assumes a role it is impossible for him to break character, except through psychic intervention. During the time he is assuming a character role he convinces himself that he IS whomever, or whatever, he is supposed to be at an unhealthy level. It takes him at least one minutes to get in character and requires a real object or costume representing the role to "focus" in on. The length of time he stays in character is either biased on the length of his acting contract, or it persists for at least fifteen minutes after assuming a role for other reasons.
This ability does NOT allow Indrajith to develop skills, abilities, or have any knowledge he would otherwise normally have. The completeness of his method acting is limited by his preperation and research prior to assuming the role.
He is also unable to break his personal "Inner Code" (see disadvantages) while method acting, no matter how dire the situation is.
Indrajith is an exceptionally good looking man with extremely generic facial features. This naturally allows him to be easily mistaken for other people as long as they are looking at him from behind or are not too close. Girls will easily flirt and gush over this handsome young man, but they can never quite remember his name after walking away…
Indrajith, between his acting, superhero, and supervillain gigs has managed to consistently earn an upper middle class income. His fee schedule is high enough that this includes the "Down Period" between jobs. He has a nice midsized apartment, a car, some savings in the bank and only one credit card with a low balance on it. His 401k is on track for retirement too.
Mr. Not D. Director, is Indrajith's agent. Indrajith can only contact his agent by phone and e-mail. Mr. Not consistently finds Indrajith superhero, supervillain, commercial and cinema work throughout the year and provides him with case study files with the information necessary for Indrajith to devlop his method acting character roles.
The most common work Mr. Not finds is for things like "Roit Police" , "Expendable Hydra Agent" , "Black Lives Protestor" and "Expendable Shield Agent." Once in a blue moon Indrajith is asked to take a high paying job known as a "Death Double." Whereby Indrajith is paid to dress up and act out some important event where the character he is dressed up as, dies. Due to non-disclosure clauses I cannot give you specific examples of what super heroes and super villains may or may not have taken advantage of this service.
Indrajith has a VERY small fan community. He has his own website that talks about what roles he IS allowed to talk about and blogs to them on his day to day activities. He has a link to a go-fund me site that allows him to raise a little additional revenue. When revenue hits a certain point he allows his fans to vote on their favorite fan submitted hero or villain concept they come up with and he gives that character concept a spin in the real world to see if it will be the next big hit. Sometimes he is a "Star-Trek dressed vampire Superhero" or a "Japanese Themed Helmeted Villian." He will use the character theme until that character dies twice (everyone is allowed to come back from dying at least once).
Indrajith uses this fan base as his 'research' think tank to hopefully, one day, develop his superhero or supervillain persona that will launch him into the big leagues.
(OOC) If you have a simple - fun or rediculous one shot character concept @mail me the details and I will make it show up on grid! You are my fanbase ^.^
Indrajith has learned the highly disciplined fighting style of choreography. Part dance, part over reacting, and largely ineffective at causing real damage. In involves heavily telegraphed wide swinging blows, exaggerated body movements and pulled punches. It is best viewed from the right angle and looks amazingly dramatic! This fighting style is so heavily ingrained in Indrajith's muscle memory he has to try REALLY hard to actually hit someone.
Choreography is remarkably defensive though. He can control ranges well and knows how to absorb or deflect hits to cause minimal body injury to himself. Upon dodging a blow he tends to instinctively overreact and jerk as if he were hit. He can defend himself well for a number of round against a top tiered trained combatant. That is, until they catch on to his acting and just finish the fight
Indrajith is a highly trained stuntman with over a decade of working experience and the physique and stamina to go with it. He is considered an avid practitioner of Parkour, rope climbing, tightrope walking, distanced leaps, basic gymnastics etc. He knows how to execute a controlled fall from a two story building, is comfortable with rock climbing and "no-safety" high rise hangs, wearing controlled "Fire Man" outfits, safely working near explosions, and generally surviving potentially dangerous stunts and Barnum and Bailey circus acts.
Indrajith is a solid B actor, stand in, and movie extra. He is weak at delivering complex or meaningful dialogue. He can easily get work doing commercials, infomercials (the guy getting naired), thug with baseball bat, dinosaur victim, cop #3, henchmen, receptionist, etc etc.
John does good work. They remember the characters he plays and what they do, but people never quite remember HIM as a person. This means he can fight alongside Captain America one day as a Shield Agent, but not be recognized as himself in the bar that very same night. He can spend all night dancing with a girl and hanging out, but come back the next week she doesn't remember him as the person she was dancing with. This has caused quite a few problems in Indrajith's career development and personal life. People DO remember Indrajith, but he is never quite the first person they think of when it comes to advice or help or anything of that sort. It's a good thing he has a good agent.
The Evil Doctor Director is still out there. He still has an enforceable, exclusive, binding contract that can be reinstated against Indrajith at any time. This would make Indrajith an immediate subordinate to the Evil Doctor Director. This contract is reinforced by Indrajith's brainwashing. There are also other survivors of the Evil Doctor Director that can pop up from time to time. These people are either angry, jelous, or just plain want revenge against the Evil Doctor Director and anyone who wasn't "voted off the island" during the pre-production of "Evil Henchmen Take Over the WORLD!!!"
In order to ensure that his minions had the greatest widespread appeal to all customers, he brainwashed Indrajith to follow a very specific code of behavior while "Method Acting."

(This is a slightly modified version of the 1954 Comics Code Authority as found on Wikipedia.org)
Stuntman Steve has several low level credits in a plethora of budget Bollywood films. He is also an "On-Call" expendable for many of the Hero and Villain organizations throughout the world. Though honestly, nobody really recognizes him for his work. But your organization definitely knows his agent.
