Origin

+ Part 1: Early Life

- Emma Frost was the middle daughter of wealthy industrialist Winston Frost.
- The Frost family was so full of politicking and mind games that it would put any soap opera to shame. To say that Emma's family environment was toxic would be a major understatement.
- Emma's telepathic powers manifested in her teens. She refused her family money and set off to make her own way in the world.

+ Part 2: Hellfire

- In college, Emma learned more about mutants. She learned that as a mutant, she was subject to being hated and feared by normal humans. She also learned that her powers put her above them, and that she could control them.
- Emma became a member of New York City's high society, and this led her to the Hellfire Club. She joined and quickly manipulated her way up the ranks.
- Emma eventually politicked her way into the Hellfire Club's all-mutant Inner Circle, where she became its White Queen, one of the four most powerful positions in the New York branch.
- As Emma's power in the Club grew, so did her power elsewhere. Her startup tech businesses and engineering firms took off, and she became very wealthy and very influential, very quickly.

+ Part 3: Hellions

- Emma decided to cultivate the next generation of mutants, and opened her Massachusetts Academy. In addition to being a fully operational prep school, the Academy also taught mutants to use their powers.
- Emma's prize pupils were known as the Hellions. Time and again, Emma and her Hellions, as well as the rest of the Hellfire Club, came into conflict with the X-Men and the original New Mutants.
- Eventually, the X-Men and the Hellfire Club entered an uneasy truce. This did not stop internecine squabbling within the Inner Circle.
- A time-traveling mutant called Trevor Fitzroy attacked the Hellfire Club, and in his attack, murdered most of the Hellions and put Emma into a coma.

+ Part 4: Gen-X

- When Emma was revived from her catatonic state, she discovered the fate of her Hellions. She took up residence in the X-Mansion temporarily to rebuild her life.
- Emma found a new direction as one of the mentors and team leaders of the latest group of X-Men trainees, known as "Generation X." This environment was a positive influence on Emma, as many of her hard edges softened a bit, and her amoral behavior was curbed significantly.
- Generation X disbanded after a series of disasters, and Emma relocated to Genosha, the mutant island nation, continuing to teach there until a super-Sentinel obliterated 99 percent of the island's population.

+ Part 5: X-Man

- After Genosha, Emma joined the X-Men proper. She was an uneasy fit, as she was surrounded by equals, rather than students who she could more easily influence.
- Emma began a relationship with Cyclops and took over the running of Xavier's school, and later became one of the leaders of the mutant state of Utopia.
- When the X-Men split into sides, Emma remained with the Utopia faction. The separatist views expressed by this group aroused the ire of SHIELD and other forces. Emma's behavior began to backslide a bit, into more amoral territory.
- Following the Secret Wars, Emma is her own woman again, having returned to the Hellfire Club while still keeping some ties to the X-Men active. What she will do from here, no one knows.

Emma Frost thinks very highly of herself, her abilities, her looks, her opinions, and her convictions. Very few things can sway her mind on how awesome she is, or just how much better she is than you.

+ Unabashed

She dresses like a stripper, or at least like a highly-paid call girl, showing off more skin than most people would deem appropriate in any given social situation. She talks flirtatiously and directly. She's not ashamed of it. Her sexuality is a weapon, she does it to mess with you.

+ Intelligent

Emma has a highly gifted IQ, and she's not afraid of wielding it and all the big words and high concepts she knows in an attempt to make you look dull and dim.

+ Independent

She doesn't need you, she doesn't need anyone! She can stand on her own, and she will take down everyone around her to prove it!

Emma Frost seeks to guide young mutants in the ways of the world, to shield, protect, and nurture future generations. If this means humanity has to be pushed aside to do it, so be it.

Money, power, and prestige. These are the tools with which she can shape and lead mutants into a brighter, more dominant future in which they will never be abused or denied again, and teach them the things Xavier is too weak to do.

Abilities

+ Telepathy

Emma Frost is one of the most powerful telepaths on Earth, capable of communicating with, reading, and controlling minds, bodily possession, memory alteration or erasure, inducing pain and illusions of all five senses, astral projection, and 'psychic surgery' to heal wounded or damaged minds. She is able to broadcast and communicate with a large number of minds, and across vast distances around the planet. She does not have telekinetic powers, but can produce 'psi-bolts' from ambient psionic energy, which can attack both mentally and physically, capable of incapacitating or killing foes.

+ Diamond Form

Her secondary mutation of turning into organic, mobile diamond affords Emma a great deal of protection and physical might, while at the same time shutting off her access to her telepathic powers. She is near-invulnerable in this form, though she does have a single flaw which is more vulnerable than the rest of her and causes her body to shatter. In her diamond form, she gains increased strength (approximately two tons), tireless stamina, immunity to cold and heat, no longer needs sustenance or oxygen, and is immune to all but the strongest of telepaths.

Emma is Chairman and CEO of Frost International, which primarily deals in shipping and R&D, wielding considerable influence and power within the company.

As the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, Emma Frost wields a lot of influence and power, and has access to a lot of very priveleged, and not very nice, people. She is in the innermost, elite, circle and, given her powers, there is very little that goes on that she doesn't know about.

Skills

+ Gifted

Emma has a very high IQ, and is an extremely cunning adversary, able to negotiate her way through both business and the politics of the Hellfire Club. She is a very experienced telepath, skilled at figuring out mutants and how their powers work, and holds a number of degrees in several fields.

+ Psionic Tech

Frost has become highly skilled in the use of electronics to amplify or utilize psionic abilities or energy, capable of building devices very similar to Cerebro, or which would allow one to swap bodies with another.

+ Combat

While not a true warrior, she is capable in self-defense, especially in her diamond form. Even without her powers, the average, untrained civilian would stand no chance against her.

Disadvantages

+ Can't Do Both

Emma Frost cannot use both of her powers together. Using diamond form shuts her out of her telepathic abilities.

+ Shatterpoint

There is a single flaw in the structure of her diamond form. If properly exploited, it can cause her to shatter, effectively dead until reassembled.

+ Bad Company

She believes she knows best for the mutants of the world, particularly the younger generation. Her involvement with the Hellfire Club and the many differing agendas there are likely to sabotage her already hardline efforts at creating her own version of an 'ideal future' (under her, of course).

+ Better Than You

And she knows it! She can be persuasive when she wants to be, but generally she operates from a position of standing over others, whether she truly does or not, and tends to disregard opinions, feelings, or ideals not in line with her own.

Reputation

Emma Frost's moral character is considered dubious by most. Those who have worked alongside her in the X-Men may give her the benefit of the doubt, as she has proven herself an ally to the mutant cause time and again. Attempting to pin her down to any one position is folly, though.
