Born James Howlett in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada sometime between 1882 and 1885 the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Howlett (married to John Howlett, owner of a large estate) and the Howletts' grounds-keeper, Thomas Logan. The youth was sickly and frail, and sufferred severe allergic reactions. Raised on the Howlett Estate by John Howlett Sr and a caretaker by the name of Rose O'Hara, James witnessed the murder of John Howlett senior by Thomas Logan as he shot him in the head in a druken rage. This shock caused James to finally manifest his mutant abilities. James "popped" his claws and killed Thomas Logan in a rage induced frenzy and scarred his childhood friend, Dog's, face with his claws. Witnessing this, Elizabeth, now completely insane, drove James away with Rose, and after he was gone, killed herself with the weapon. Dog reported that it was Rose who killed the Howletts and Rose and James fled to the Yukon and British Columbia.
By 1907, Logan had been running with a pack of wolves as their "Alpha". Discovered by Nathaniel Essex and his "Marauders", experiments were conducted on him, determining what type of abilities Logan had. Finally escaping, Logan headed to California where he encountered "Romulus", who had become interested in Logan's family history and his abilities. Under Romulus's guidance, Logan became a mercenary in the city-state of Madripoor and travelled to Japan where he met "the Hand". It was here that he fought Sabretooth for the first time (another Romulus operative) who was killing women, and defeated him. Thinking him dead, Logan left, not knowing Sabretooth could heal just like himself. Logan returned to Canada, where he met a woman he would fall in love with, Silver Fox. However, Sabretooth soon found them, and on Logan's birthday, raped and killed Silver Fox. Enraged, Logan fought Sabretooth in a bar and was defeated. Sabretooth manipulated a mindlessly enraged Logan into believing it was the inhabitants of the town that ordered her death. Logan then slaughtered the inhabitants of the town in a mindless rage. Many years later, Logan was employed by the Hudson's Bay Company as a fur trader to the Blackfoot Indians. It was then that Logan defeated the demonic snake-worm, known as Uncegila. This earned him the Blackfoot warrior name of "Skunk-Bear" or "Wolverine".
In 1914, Logan had joined the Canadian Army as a soldier. Logan was assigned to the Devil's Brigade, a special Canadian military unit sometimes used by Romulus. Later in the war Logan, while fighting in Ypres, Belgium, on April 22, 1915, encountered Lazaer (an anagram of Azrael, the Angel of Death). Lazaer had been using his large sword to kill allied soldiers. Logan fought Lazaer and was impaled by Lazaer's sword. Logan then pulled it from his chest and stabbed Lazaer with it, defeating him! This sent Logan into a deep depression. Logan drank even more than normal as the war dragged on. Lazaer found Logan, and explained that the depression was a punishment for defeating him. This defeat at Logan's hands defied the natural order of things. After that battle whenever Logan was wounded severely enough to die even with his healing factor, he recovered by defeating Lazaer on the astral plane. Stationed back in Canada, Logan got in a confrontation with his Commanding Officer, Silas Burr, who severely beat him and blinded him, temporarily, in one eye. Fleeing to Shanghai, China, Logan intervened in a conflict between locals and Ogun, a Japanese samurai/sorcerer. Impressed, Ogun offered to train Logan, but Logan refused.
In 1921 Logan found himself in Mexico, tied up and about to be executed. Beside him, also going to be executed for having blue skin and suspicions she was a witch, was none other than Mystique. Both escaping, they fled to Kansas City. After a bank heist failed when Logan tipped off the Police, they parted under bad cicumstances. For the next several years, Logan bootlegged alcohol during Prohibition bringing hooch down from Canada to Chicago or Minnesota. During this time, Logan met a Vampire Hunter named Eric Brooks in New York City and "ran afoul" of Al Capone and his hitman, Victor Creed. Logan was lured by Creed to the site of the infamous St. Valentine's Day Massacre, barely surviving. Logan reunited with a friend from the War, Elias, who was killed by the mobsters chasing Logan. With his dying breath, Elias begged Logan to get his four kids to safety. Logan was gifted with his first motorcycle for saving the kids. Returning to Madripor under his new alias "Patch", he had Seraph tutor him in becoming a better assassin. Returning to China, Logan sought out Ogun, who tutored him for many years. In the mid-30s, Logan partnered with Raven Darkholme and Irene Adler. Logan participated in Spanish Civil War. In 1937, Logan, under Romulus' orders, spent two years learning espionage from Taras Romanov while giving hand-to-hand combat lessons to Natasha Romanoff. When Taras ordered Natasha to kill Logan, Logan killed him instead and let Natasha leave.
In 1939 Logan again found himself serving in the Canadian Army during World War II in the Devil's Brigade. It appeared that, whenever Logan suffered traumatic memories, his healing factor clouded his memories, making all previous memories vague or unclear. This explains why he would serve in Romulus' unit once again. In the summer of 1941, Logan teamed-up with Captain America in a mission to sabotage the Hand making an alliance with Baron Strucker. Natasha Romanoff was sent to kill the leader of the Hand. Logan, regretting teaching her so she became an assassin, killed the man himself. Later, Logan worked with Captain America, Bucky and Sgt Nick Fury. In 1942, Logan was a paratrooper during the Normandy landings on D-Day and the liberation of the Netherlands. In 1945, Logan was captured by the Japanese in Japan, where he was sent to a prison camp in Nagasaki. Logan escaped with Lt. Ethan Warren, an American soldier, After escaping, he fell in love with a Japanese woman named Atsuko. Lt. Warren (a mutant) murdered Atsuko. While they fought they were caught in the atomic blast during the bombing of Hiroshima. Logan survived.
After the War, Logan journeyed to Jasmine Falls, Japan, and he studied with Bando Saburo as a samurai. Logan then fell in love with Itsu Akihiro, whom he married. Unbeknownst to Logan, they also conceived a child together. In 1946, the demon sword-smith, Muramasa, created an explosion that caused Logan to accidentally stab a villager with his claws. Logan fled to his home, where he discovered Itsu murdered. Now the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes had been brainwashed to kill her by Romulus. Logan then believed his son dead - however, Romulus had taken the child from Itsu's womb. Originally named Akihiro, he eventually took the name "Daken". Trained by Romulus, he was told terrible lies about his father. This filled Daken with anger and hate, vowing revenge. Logan went on to work for Canadian Intelligence and the CIA during the Cold War even teaming up with Ben Grimm.
In the 60s and 70s, Logan was a member of Team X and later the Weapon X program. As a member of the Black Ops squad run by the CIA (Team X), Logan worked with other superhumans, namely Sabretooth, Silver Fox, Maverick, Kestrel and Mastadon. During a mission in '68 Logan was shot with "Carbonadium" bullets. These bullets were designed to slow his healing factor, even to the point where he could be killed. After the bullets were removed, Logan discovered he had regained his memories for the first time in years. Logan quit Team X. In 1972 Logan joined the Canadian Defense Department K with ties to Weapon X While a part of that program , Logan worked with Nick Fury, Carol Danvers, and Richard and Mary Parker. Confronting Sabretooth again, Danvers and Logan escaped Creed's explosive sabotauge of the facility. Creed escaped. Captured by the Weapon X program, Logan was once more experimented on in the northern Canadian wilderness. This was where he got his adamantium skeleton. After months, or years of torture, Logan broke free of his conditioning, and fled into the wilderness where he was discovered by Heather and James Hudson.
After recovering under the care of the Hudson's and Department H, he became a Canadian Operative once again, rising to the rank of Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces. Most of his memories of his past were gone at worst, barely jumbled images and flashes at best. His mind was damaged. When the Fantastic Four arrived, Camada decided to create their own super team and Logan became a founder member of Alpha Flight. Just before the debut of the team, Logan was captured by the Leader with Hercules and Karkas in order to combat his arch enemy, the Hulk. The prisoners escaped, and the Canadian military mobilized to fight the Hulk. Logan then battled the Hulk as well as a Wendigo, in a three way battle. Teaming up with the Hulk, Logan himself delivered the finishing blow to the evil creature, the Wendigo. With the fight still on, the Hulk pummeled Logan into uncosciousness, and left the country. Resuming the leadership of Alpha Flight, Logan continued the preparations for the revelation of the team.
Logan was then approached by Professor X, who had been attracted to Logan because of the media coverage of his battle with the Hulk. The Professor's students, the X-Men, had been captured by the island mutant of Krakoa, and he needed Logan's help to rescue them. After the new X-Men defeated the island and rescued the team, Logan decided to leave Department H and stay on the new team of X-Men consisting of Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Banshee. Logan has remained a member of the X-Men since then until present day. Early in his career he had a rivalry develop with Cyclops because Logan discovered he had feelings for Jean Grey. He also developed a strong friendship with Nightcrawler, whom he calls "Fuzzy Elf".
Over the years, Logan has had many adventures with the team. The X-Men travelled to Japan, where he met Lady Mariko Yashida to help her cousin, former X-Man Sunfire, in battling Moses Magnum. Logan fell in love with Mariko, the heir to the powerful Yakuza family, and married her. The X-Men then headed to Calgary, Alberta, where they fought Vindicator and the new team of Alpha Flight. They attempted to arrest Logan for dissertion. Logan surrendered to the team, but later escaped. When Jean Grey was hypnotised by Mastermind in order to become a member of the Hellfire Club, he accidentally released the Phoenix-entity, a cosmic level entity that could devour whole suns! Captured by the Shi'ar Imperial Guard after Phoenix had consumed a sun, causing the deaths of millions, the X-Men were forced to watch as "Jean Grey" as the Dark Phoenix (actually the Phoenix-entities' form) sacrificed herself in order to save everyone.
Logan stayed a member of the X-Men for years.
The battle with the Brood, where Professor X's mind had to be transplanted into a clone body.
Logan's engagement to Mariko, and her subsequent death.
The battle once more with the now evil Ogun at the side of Kitty Pryde.
The battles with Selene, Lady Deathstrike, and the Marauders.
Deciphering Spider-man's true identity in an adventure with Parker.
Storm's loss of powers and her battle for leadership of the Morlocks, and X-Men's battle with the Adversary and the Siege Perilous.
The resuming of his "Patch" identity in Madripoor, the battle with the Marauders, the deaths of the Morlocks, and the Demonic Invasion of this reality by Madelyn Pryor (the Goblin Queen) and her demon sidekick, N'Astirh.
Next, the X-Men and X-Factor battled Sinister and Malice. While this was occuring, Wolverine fought Sabretooth while Mister Sinister attempted to kidnap Marvel Girl. Cyclops then appeared to kill Sinister with an optic blast. During this time, the X-Men had re-located to the Australian Outback.
The chapter ends with the death of Mariko at Logan's own hands. Faced with a excrutiating death by poison, or a quick, honorable death, Mariko asked Logan to kill her quickly. Logan complied.
Logan remains an X-Man. Next, Magneto stripped Logan painfully of his adamantium sketelon, in revenge after Logan attacked him. Leaving the X-Men briefly in order to recover, the adamantium was returned to him when Logan defeated Creed to become the Horseman of Death in Apocalypse's new army and Apocalyse re-bonded the adamantium with his skeleton.
Logan later became a member of the New Avengers and the X-Men during M-Day and Civil War. It was during this time that Lazaer defeated Logan in the astral plane when he was severely injured. Logan recovered with help from Doctor Strange, but Lazaer warned Wolverine he could never escape death by defeating him in astral combat as that time had now passed.
AT this time, Logan fought Daken, defeated Shaw and the Hellfire Club, and became the leader of X-Force.
During the Second Coming event, Cyclops ordered Logan to dissolve X-Force, but Logan ignored him. With several events causing anti-mutant hatred to spread, the rift between Cyclop's team and Logan's team grew. It came to a head when Logan saw that Cyclops was training young mutants to become soldiers. It was then that he split off from Cyclops, taking part of the team with him, to form the new Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.
With the Phoenix Force returning to Earth, and the Avnegers coming into conflict with the X-Men, Logan witnessed the splitting of the Phoenix Force into five parts, that went into five X-Men, giving them incredible powers. After absorbing the powers from the other four X-Men, Cyclops killed Professor X. The Avengers, with the help of Hope and the Scarlet Witch, drew the powers out of Cyclops and dissipated it around the world, to be absorbed by millions of people who would now have powers.
During a rescue mission for S.H.I.E.L.D., Logan was infected with a Microverse virus that prevented his healing factor from working. Over the course of the next few months, Logan still fought villaisn such as Sabretooth, the Viper, AIM agents, Ninjas, and other villains who wanted to make a name for themselves, and finally even wore armor for a time. Logan even refreshed his martial arts training by enlisting the help of Iron Fist and Shang Chi and asked Mister Fantastic for help in curing him of the virus.
Logan then traveled to Cornelius' facility in Paradise Valley (a villain who created a regen serum and wanted to create an armor of adamantium soldiers like Logan). After a pitched battle, Cornelius activated the adamantium merging process and fled. Logan then attempted to stop the liquid adamantium with his claws before it was injected in the subjects but the metal instead covered his entire body. Injecting the subjects with the healing serum in order to save them, Logan then took off after Cornelius, killing him right before the adamantium hardened. Logan died from suffocation, kneeling as a samurai before the setting sun. The X-Men took Logan's body to Alberta, Canada, where a shrine was made by Forge to remember him, in an unknown location known only to those present.
Now Logan has returned, with no memory of how he survived or why.
Logan is not really a complicated man. Logan is the best there is at what he does. And what he does is never pretty. Considering all that he has been through, Logan is, deep down, a good person. He acknowledges that this gets him into a world of trouble sometimes, but he is willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good and for others he feels worthy of saving. Logan has spent most of his life fighting and killing, and he knows that he has a monster caged up inside him. It is this monster that he spends most of his days fighting against, knowing that the monster inside of him will hurt people, and will kill people, no matter the provocation. That is why he tends to be a loner, but it is his inherent kindness and good spirit that always brings him back to the table to help others. Logan also appreciates the finer things in life. Whether it is a fine cigar, a great micro brew, or a long motorcycle through the Great Canadian Wilderness, Logan appreciates life. That is what keeps him on the side of good.
Logan is a warrior, a guardian, a wounded knight, a champion of the weak and downtrodden. Logan's key goal in life is the help those that are being hurt, abused, taken advantage of, or need protecting. As a member of the X-Men, his reason for being was to help mutants and protect the public from evil mutants. Logan also is there to protect young mutants that cannot protect themselves, such as those that are at the Jean Grey School. As a member of the Avengers, he was there to help all of Earth's people, protecting them from "big as* threats". Logan also wants to keep his head together, to not be used by others to do evil, and to do his best to do well by "Chuck" for "believing in him".
Logan has been a soldier, a fighter and a warrior since the very early stages of his life. From a cage fighter in Canada to a Canadian Army solider in WWI and WWII, to a trained assassin. Logan has been a honorable samurai and a Cold War spy and saboteur. He has been a freedom fighter, an underworld boss in Madripor, to a SHIELD agent and revolutionary. Logan has been a super hero - an X-Man and an Avenger, a Defender and a member of the Fantastic Four. Logan has also been the villain in the story, killing innocents and not-so innocent. Through it all, he is a warrior with a willpower to rival the strongest in the world. He is a fighter, and never gives up. Logan would sacrifice his body, mind and soul for the cause, and this gets him through the good days, and most especially, the bad.
Logan has been trained as a samurai. He has married a Japanese woman and been given the greatest gift a noble Japanese House could give… the 800 year old Clan Yashida Masamune sword as the families' Samurai. Although Logan has his faults, he has always tried to uphold a personal code of honor and ethics. When not consumed by rage, he always tries to fight with honor and follows the code of Bushido, for the most part. Logan will protect the just, the innocent and the weak. He will fight the unjust, evil, and the corrupt. That isn't to say he won't fight dirty when he needs to, but he genuinly tries to be a good man.
Logan has been trained in all forms of martial arts over 140 years of life. This has given him the discipline and the strength of will to fight through the pain, the anger, the fear, the hatred and the darkness within him. Even when he has lost himself to the beast, he still fights through it all, and with a herculean effort, can sometimes bring himself out of the anger that clouds his mind. Logan can fight honorably if an opponent deserves it, but he can also fight dirty to those he feels are not worthy of an honorable death. Throughout his life, Logan has seen and done a lot, and this makes a man dark and callous, difficult and grumpy, cynical and pessimistic, judgemental and arrogant. Logan knows how to break a person using pain and torture, and if he deems it necessary, Logan will go there.
Until recently, Logan believed himself invincible. He has gone to Death's Door, met her, and won. He has defeated Angels of Death on the Astral Plane, and fought back from the abyss. He has fought through pain, and anguish, seen the deaths of incalculable friends and loved ones, lovers and enemies, some at his own hands. Through it all, he has fought on. Logan is willing to tread where angels fear to, leap into battle without thinking, jump into the fray without a second's thought, and sacrifice himself for others without blinking. Logan truly believes himself nigh-invincible. That makes him increibly brave…and incredibly foolhardy. He will suffer through the pain to win at all costs. A berserker, who doesn't notice the damage to himself or to those around him until it was over. Steve Rogers once called him "the most fearless, brave and dangerous men in the World."
Logan has been through over a hunder years of soul wrenching agony and pain. Logan feels that sometimes, this pain is best dealt with on his own. When the world has become too much, Logan leaves. Grabs his gear, jumps on a motorcycle, and heads home. North. On the open road, all by himself, without having to deal with the pain of others. Logan also knows that he may be used against those he loves and fears losing control. This loss of control has happened before, and people he cared about died on his claws. One of the few things that scare him is hurting someone he cares about. And, sometimes, he just gets the wanderlust where he needs to be in the wild, by himself, howling at the moon.
Strangely enough, a lot of what makes him who he is also makes him an amazingly capable leader. Logan can be difficult, gruff, grumpy, irreverent, aloof, and mean tempered. Logan can also be wise, giving, caring, intelligent, observant and, yes, even charismatic. Logan has been a soldier, a warrior, a diplomat (seriously), a wise and honorable samurai, the head of a Clan, a Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces, the head of a Black Ops Team, a leader of men, and super teams, a teacher, a mentor, and a Headmaster! Logan has the respect and admiration of many, from mutants, to regular people. Even heroes, from Captain America, Black Widow, Dr. Strange, Nick Fury, Mister Fantastic, and others too numerous to mention would help him at a moment's notice, without hesitation or reservation. After all, there have been countless times when he has done the same for them.
Logan can get angry. He has a short temper and not much in the way of patience. If you get on his bad side, which is most of the time, he will be gruff and short if you are lucky. It should also be noted that Logan drinks. A lot. That usually means he is dark tempered or dealing with stuff, bub. If there is a "dark cloud" above his head, it is best to move on. He also has a mean streak and a deep, dark temper. Logan also has a beast, a monster caged up inside him that rivals that of Bruce Banner. This anger can control him, and turn him into a wild, raging madman intent on death and destruction. So, sometimes, it is best that he be left alone, with his beer and cigar.
Even with his abilities taxed in recent history, Logan still recovers with great speed after receiving an injury to his body. He has the power to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary person. This also makes him immune to poisons and most drugs, including alcohol. It is virtually impossible for Logan to get drunk, for example. This also provides him with far greater endurance than normal. As a side effect of his Regeneration, Logan's lifespan has also been increased, allowing him to live far longer than a normal human. Logan's age is unknown, but it is at least 130 to 140 years. He can heal minor cuts and bruises nearly instantly. Fractured/broken bones in minutes. Crushed bones in a few hours. Serious gunshot wounds (not in vital body areas) inside an hour. Lost limbs inside a few days. Serious injuries (i.e. life threatening) in under a week.
Logan has a superhumanly acute set of senses, allowing him to be able track someone by smell, for example. He can even distinguish a person by their scent, allowing him to see through all disguises, including shape shifter's disguises, depending on how good the shape shifter's power is. For example, he has been fooled by Mystique in the past. His sense of hearing is also superhumanly acute, allowing him to hear extremely well. Logan has an above average sense of sight. These levels are not to such a point that he is extremely susceptible to attacks against them, but he is slightly more susceptible to those attacks than an average person.
Logan has three, foot-long claws on the end of each of his forearms. These claws are connected to his skeleton and his nervous system. Normally they remain beneath his skin and muscle of his forearms, however, under Wolverine's mental command, one, two, or all three of the claws can shoot out of his forearm just beneath his knuckles. These claws have been laced with adamantium, the hardest substance known to man, and virtually unbreakable. They are also razor sharp, able to cut virtually anything. However, it should be noted, that although his claws can virtually cut through anything, they also require the strength to be able to penetrate through those substances. Therefore, it would be nearly impossible, for example, to cut through a wall made of adamantium that was a few inches thick, or do more than moderately scratch the Hulk (unless he was creative in the use of his claws…).
Logan's skeleton has been laced with adamantium, the hardest substance known to man, and virtually unbreakable. As a result of this, Wolverine's bones are virtually unbreakable. Therefore, he can withstand an incredible amount of punishment. This combined with his regeneration powers, makes him virtually unstoppable. Even with this, Wolverine can still be hurt. He has skin, blood, vital organs, and nerves like a normal human, and with enough damage, these senses can be overwhealmed, causing unconsciousness, and possibly death. He can heal severe damage to his body, including vital organs, it just takes a long time. His body can absorb the impacts from blunt damage easily, but it is harder for his body to absorb energy and other attacks like it. His skeleton is also made of metal, and therefore, vulnerable to magnetic attacks.
Logan has an uncanny empathic ability with mammalian carnivores, allowing him to feel their emotions, and send his emotions to them, effectively communicating with them. This can warn them off, or let him know of others in the vicinity. Logan is particularly fond of wolves, and he always asserts himself as an Alpha male with little to no challenge from the other alpha in the pack.
Logan has an increased level of strength, because of his enhanced regeneration and mutant abilities, but also because he has spent over 40 years carrying around an extra 100+ lbs of adamantium in his body. His physique is similar to an Olympic-calibre body builder and weight lifter. This allows him to lift approximately 900+ lbs, or just under 1 ton.
Logan has been a member of the X-Men for a long time. As such, he knows everyone who has been a member of that team, from the beginning to the current teams. He has been an ally, a lover, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, and a leader of these mutants, and can call upon them for aid if need be. Logan will also do nearly anything to help a fellow member of the X-Men and the subsequent mutant teams if they need him. Logan has access to the headquarters, facilities, resources, gear, vehicles and personnel as he requires.
Logan is a current member of the Avengers, and as such, can call upon the team members for help if required. Logan also has access to the headquarters, facilities, resources, gear, vehicles and personnel as he requires. He also knows their protocols, procedures, and policies, and this can be an advantage as well.
Logan is world reknowned as a member of the mutant team of X-Men and also as a current member of the Avengers. This gives him a good reputation in organizations such as SHIELD or law enforcement. However, it also makes him a target for villains and mercenaries trying to take him down. This advantage is a double edged sword, and can be a positive and a negative.
Logan's current pride and joy is his motorcycle. It is a custom made 2013 Ducati Diavel Cromo Superbike. 162hp @ 9500rpm and 94lb-ft of torque @ 8000rpm.
Logan's background includes service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, CIA and Canadian Secret Service. Logan has received intense training by Ogun and other sensei's as a samurai, a ninja and a martial artist. Logan has trained and sparred with masters around the world over the last 100 years, and heroes like Captain America, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, Black Widow, and Daredevil. He is an outstanding fighter, and is a true warrior, a master of numerous forms of unarmed combat. Logan can go toe to toe with some of the greatest fighters the world has even known, and win.
Logan's background includes intense training with nearly all weapons known to man, from firearms, to conventional weapons, such as swords, daggers, bows, knives, pistols, rifles, etc. to name just a few. Logan has decades of service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, SHIELD, CIA and Canadian Secret Service, including espionage operations, assassination, wetworks, and stealth. Logan has received intense training by several weapons masters. Logan is a true warrior, a master of numerous types of armed combat. Logan usually prefers bladed weapons, however, namely his claws.
Logan's favorite mode of transportation is motorcycles, and he is a roadmaster. Logan also knows how to drive most forms of transportation, from civilian vehicles such as cars and trucks, including 18 wheelers, to military vehicles and transportation. Logan has also received training from the Canadian Forces, Alpha Flight, and Cyclops in how to fly aircraft, helicopters, airplanes, and jets, including the X-Men's Blackbird.
Logan's background includes intense training and has decades of service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, SHIELD, CIA and Canadian Secret Service, including espionage operations, assassination, wetworks, and stealth. He is a suberb tactician, and is skilled in the use of espionage and assassination, including stealth and the tools involved in high tech espionage of today. He has been trained in the art of Ninjitsu, and can also use the tools of that trade as well.
Logan has lived for a long time, well over 130 years. Logan has travelled throughout the world, and has a knack for picking up languages, wherever he goes, usually with his own "flavour". He has also been "given" language training from Professor X and the Weapon X program. The languages he is known to speak and be fluent in are: English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, several dialects of Arabic, Cheyenne, and Lakota. Logan also knows a fair amount of French, Italian, Portuguese and German, enough to get by.
Wolverine occasionally flies into a rage, losing control, and going "berserk". Although less evident nowadays, he can still lose control when he is severly injured or upset. This allows him to ignore attacks that would normally cripple or stun him, so there is an advantage to losing control. However, there is also an obvious disadvantage. When Wolverine flies into this rage, he cannot distinguish allies and enemies, so he will attack everyone and anything in his attack radius, even to the point of severely hurting or even killing them.
Without Logan's healing factor, the adamantium in his body would kill him. As it is, the adamantium in his body slows his healing factor and makes it tougher for the healing factor to recover from a severe overload, or severe injury as his healing factor is always working at high capacity to purge the metal poisons from his system.
Logan has memory problems to say the least. A lot of his memories are lost, as traumatic experiences are sometimes healed by his healing factor almost like an injury, leaving scars and flashes of memory. Logan has recovered many memories in recent years, but even these are incomplete and fragmented. This can be frustrating and cause Logan to become even more grumpy than usual as he tries to pice together bits and pieces of his memory, especially memories from Logan's distant past.
Logan has made a lot of enemies in 130+ years of life. His rogue's gallery is quite extensive, and filled with some of the worst thieves, cuthroats, killers, murderers, assassins, world conquerers, dictators, aliens, villains, and mutant haters. He is public enemy number 1 for a lot of organizations and individuals, and even "frenemies". The interesting thing is, Logan sometimes does not even know why they want to kill him as he doesn't even remember them. Logan is, indeed, the Best He Is At What He Does, and it is not usually making friends.
Logan has a skeletal structure composed of adamantium, a metal. This gives him a vulnerability to magnetism, as evidenced when Magneto ripped the adamantium out of Wolverine's body.
The one, the only, the original 616 Logan, back from the dead. The best he is at what he does - and what he does isn't pretty and is usually bloody.
